In order for ONAKAI to achieve their aims a more professional attitude must be undertaken by all concerned. Once an athlete is selected onto the National squad they must be prepared to fulfill the following criteria as laid down by the coaching committee   After certain competitions have been identified to suit suitable athletes, the athletes must be willing to;   Attend necessary squad training sessions to prepare for the events. Attend all Antonio Oliva’s seminars. Watch their weight and if there is a change to inform national coach. If and when a personal development programme is given to athletes they must be prepared to work with it. Watch their diet all year not only when attending competitions. Keep up to date with any changes to WKF rules. When at competitions they must conduct themselves in a proper manner, wear official National tracksuit and stay in a group supporting each other and act like a squad. They must accept the decision of the coaching committee as to selection of individual’s events. Junior athletes must sign all relevant documents i.e., Consent forms 2 weeks before traveling to events.   At least 2 months notice will be given as to what competitions they are chosen for and the times of the relevant squad sessions, but they must check our website regularly and ring national coach if there is any problems. Remember communication is essential.   Instructors are encouraged to attend squad sessions and to show encouragement to their athlete if and when they are chosen to represent their country.   In order to help finance their athlete’s instructors should find out if there are any grants available from their local VEC.   A contract will be presented to all squad members and they will be asked to sign it.
